I believe this is probably because it deals with artists during a fascinating period. This book was amazing because it really pointed out that Beauty see how important an issue it is – I’ve capitalized it and everything is not necessarily the deal breaker.
Beauty is a powerful factor influencing many aspects in life, and is not just something that can be justified as superficial thing. I wouldn’t recommend this book but I had to read it for a class. I found wicked a little confusing at times, and while this book has some vague times it has a very solid plot. Maguirre impeccable use of language draws you fully into maguife story, hanging on every word. LOL These days I don’t copy as many quotes because it’s too time-consuming. There’s a nice twist near the end which gave me a little brain jolt, and I always like that. The stepmother is pure evil. The happy fairy tale that everyone knows and shares, is turned upside down, and the real story is told.
By this time, Clara has willingly transformed herself into the familiar Cinderella character, and at first she has uglyy plans to attend the ball. It sets in Holland during the 17th century. It was interesting to me that there seemed to be so much about how the characters looked at or perceived things–beauty as opposed to deformity, kindness as opposed to waspishness, various social classes and the different cultural beliefs.
