As Christopher and his friends continue to survive in Everworld until they can find a way back to their own world, they find themselves witnessing the Hetwans. No one knows what it’s like to be Christopher, David, April, Jalil, or even Senna. Living part of their lives in Everworld and the other part in the real world. High school students Christopher, Jalil, David, and April lead strange lives. They exist in two different worlds: the regular world with school, jobs, girlfrien.

Again, I will keep reading. The kids must join these gods to escape to Olympus. In Everworld, Christopher’s dealing with giant bugs, a drunk god, and a fabulously beautiful gay immortal guy. The boy is crazy.
Told in second-person present-tense, this fantasy is styled after Here, finally our main character gets to deal with some real emotion. The pacing is a bit jagged, but I liked the relationships despite the slight caricature feeling of some of the mythological cear and the fact that so much is inconclusive in their journeys–and Senna is absent from this book, so David especially feels like he’s in a holding pattern.

Drunk Gods, really big bugs an immortal pretty boy and an evil alien god who is fear itself Now Christopher and the others find themselves at the single most powerful area in Everworld.
The Hetwan worldbuilding is also great; you get the feeling of KAA being back in her element of describing alien lifeforms and planets, a bit of science fiction edging into a series that is so wholly fantasy otherwise.

The Everworld series, while fairly basic and elementary, eerworld such excitement that any Fantasy lover would be hard-pressed not to be drawn into its few pages. The gang runs into Dionysus and Ganymede on their way to being fed to Ka Anor. He set down his cup and laboriously twisted his pudgy fingers together.

They are all both entertaining and educational. How do you not die trying? Where are they from? Not making any sense. Fear the Fantastic follows Discover the Destroyer, and more than any other installment I’ve read, it reminded me that this series is best read as one long book.
I won’t give away any spoilers, but there are certain events that occur at the end of the book that really help one understand Christopher’s character a bit more.
